Wallet Drone: a Mini drone in your pocket
With dimensions of 4 x 4 x 1.75 cm Wallet Drone is the world’s smallest quadcopter. The quadcopter comes with a 2.4 GHz remote control. The remote of 10.75 x 8.5 x 2.8 cm is also a docking station and carrying case for the quadcopter. The Wallet Drone gets its name from the fact that the overall device – drone + remote control – is about as big as a well-filled wallet.
You can store your wallet Drone in the remote. Here the Wallet Drone is not only protected, but the drone is also charged via the remote control batteries. The remote control is powered by 4 AA batteries. You can also charge the drone with the supplied USB cable. Charging takes about 20 minutes and results in 5-7 minutes flight.
The quadcopter has 3 pre-programmed flight modes with each individual level of sensitivity. Also, the quadcopter is equipped with a 6-axis gyroscope which ensures that the quadcopter is suspended and stabilized.
Unfortunately the Wallet Drone is not equipped with a camera, so this mini-drone can be used only for fun. In addition to the ordinary contortions, it is also possible to perform stunts such as flips and rolls.
The Wallet Drone is an initiative of Axis Drones. The company launched earlier the Nano Drone successful through crowdfunding.
The Wallet Drone is available in 4 colors and from $40 to reserve (25 dollars plus shipping) via Indiegogo. Within three days more than 400 people supported the campaign and the stated goal of $11,984 was nearly doubled.
