Google has expanded the support for its Google Home assistant. The company has announced partnerships with Belkin and Honeywell. Smart devices from these manufacturers can now be operated by voice.
Google Home support for Belkin and Honeywell
Google is a compact speaker that you basically can place anywhere in your home. Perhaps the most important part of Google Home is Google Assistant. This is the personal assistant who helps with everything, including the operation of devices in your smart home.
At the launch of the speaker, support for Philips Hue, Nest, and Samsung Smart Things was also announced. Additionally, you can operate services like Google Play Music, Spotify, Pandora, and TuneIn with the device. One of the most frequent criticisms was also the limited support for smart home devices, especially compared to competitor Amazon Echo.
However, Google is now catching up. The company announced that from now on devices from Belkin WeMo and Honeywell are supported. All smart devices from these companies can be operated using voice commands with Google Assistant. Belkin is particularly known for the clever lamps and light switches, Honeywell for security systems and smart thermostats. In the future, even more brands and devices will be added to the Google platform.
